Laser hair removal
Aesthetic care for all bodies — with specialized expertise where it matters most
At Clinique Vivago, our aesthetic services are open to everyone. What distinguishes our approach is not who we accept as clients — it’s how we adapt care to the person in front of us.
We recognize that many people are poorly served, refused, or even harmed in traditional aesthetic settings due to rigid beauty standards, lack of training, or one-size-fits-all protocols. Our practice is built to correct that.
We provide aesthetic care that is:
-
inclusive by design
-
clinically grounded
-
safety-focused
-
respectful of identity, anatomy, skin diversity, and personal goals
What is Laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a medical treatment that uses a focused beam of light to reduce unwanted hair. During the procedure, the laser emits light that is absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair. This light energy converts to heat, which damages the hair follicles—the small sacs in the skin responsible for hair growth. By damaging these follicles, the treatment slows or delays future hair growth.
Laser hair removal can provide long-lasting hair reduction, but for optimal results, multiple sessions are usually required and occasional maintenance treatments may be needed. Our laser technology allows safe and effective treatment for a wide range of skin tones.
Laser hair removal is used to minimize unwanted hair in areas such as the legs, underarms, upper lip, chin, and bikini line. Nearly any area of the body can be treated except the eyelids and surrounding areas. Skin with tattoos should also be avoided.
What to Expect
Most people require eight to twelve sessions. The time between treatments depends on the treatment area. For example, areas with faster hair growth (like the upper lip) may require treatment every four to eight weeks, while slower-growing areas (like the back) may need sessions spaced 12 to 16 weeks apart.
During treatment, you’ll wear protective eyewear. A cooling gel or device may be used to protect the skin and improve comfort. You may feel a brief warm or snapping sensation as the laser targets the follicles.

Hair removal by Aurora
How does Aurora remove hair?
Aurora uses optical and electrical energy to gently target the hair follicle. It neutralizes the follicle to prevent new hair growth. Over the course of several treatments, a gradual and permanent reduction of hair in the treated area can be observed.
Is Aurora treatment safe?
The treatment is harmless to the skin. Aurora incorporates several technological advances that make it one of the safest hair removal devices on the market for treating all skin types. The optical and electrical energies combined in Aurora pose no long-term health risks. Both have been used for decades in medicine, surgery, and aesthetics without adverse effects.
What results can I expect?
Each Aurora treatment will reduce the number of hairs that grow back. In addition, regrowth will become lighter, finer, and slower over time. More than one treatment is needed to target all the follicles in a given area. Most people achieve satisfactory results after four to eight treatments, although results vary depending on medical and genetic factors. Light-colored hair may require more treatments than dark hair.

How often should I receive treatments?
Generally, treatments are spaced two to three months apart, although the interval may vary depending on individual factors. Your clinician will discuss this with you during your consultation.
Is the treatment painful?
The sensation is often compared to the warmth of a pinch or the snap of a rubber band. This sensation lasts a fraction of a second and may be followed by brief tingling or warmth. Most people tolerate the treatment without topical anesthetic (which numbs the skin).
What happens after each treatment?
The skin may show slight temporary redness that fades quickly. Most people return to work and normal activities immediately after treatment. Some hairs will shed over the following three to four weeks. You may even notice a hair-free period before your next treatment.
Who is Aurora hair removal suitable for?
Anyone looking for an alternative to shaving, waxing, tweezing, and electrolysis. During your consultation, your clinician will inform you of the rare medical conditions that may be contraindications to Aurora treatment.
How to Prepare
Before treatment, you’ll have a consultation. During this visit, our specialized registered nurse will:
-
Review your medical history, medications, skin conditions, and previous hair removal methods
-
Discuss potential risks, benefits, and realistic expectations
-
Outline a treatment plan and associated costs (laser hair removal is usually not covered by insurance)
Preparation instructions may include:
-
Avoiding tanning products or skin-darkening creams
-
Refraining from plucking, waxing, or electrolysis for at least four weeks prior
-
Shaving the treatment area the day before the procedure

After the Procedure
Redness and mild swelling are common for several hours afterward. Applying ice packs can help reduce discomfort.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least six weeks after treatment, or as directed. Continue using sunscreen daily. Hair does not fall out immediately but sheds gradually over several days to weeks. Because hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are necessary to target follicles in the active growth phase.
Results vary from person to person. Many individuals experience hair reduction lasting months or even years. If hair regrows, it is typically finer and lighter. Maintenance sessions may be required for long-term results.
