Catherine Laforce Napier, BA (major in Psychology), MSW, is a licensed social worker and a member of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec. She has developed a specialization in mental health through over 10 years of professional experience in various clinical settings, including an outpatient psychiatry clinic. Through her anti-oppressive, person-centered approach, as well as her empathetic and human listening style, Catherine creates a safe and inclusive therapeutic environment. As a proud member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, she offers a welcoming space that respects each person’s differences.

Using an integrative intervention approach (systemic, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral), Catherine can support you with various challenges, including:

  • Situational stressors (e.g., separation, bereavement, job loss, life transitions, and others);

  • Stress and burnout management;

  • Anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other mental health–related concerns;

  • Difficulties in interpersonal, family, and couple relationships;

  • Exploration of gender identity and sexual orientation;

  • Survivors of intimate partner violence;

  • Assertiveness, healthy communication, and self-esteem;

  • Social isolation and exclusion.

Depending on your interests and needs, Catherine sometimes integrates the arts as a therapeutic modality to help facilitate communication and emotional expression. If this interests you, feel free to discuss it with her. She offers services in English and French to clients aged 16 and older.
