Catherine Laforce Napier, BA (Psychology), MSW, is a licensed social worker and member of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ). With more than 10 years of experience in mental health and psychosocial care, including work in outpatient psychiatry, Catherine supports adolescents and adults facing a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges.
Her approach is person-centred, anti-oppressive, inclusive, and trauma-informed. Catherine places great importance on creating a safe and respectful therapeutic space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. As a proud member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, she is particularly committed to providing affirming care to LGBTQ+ individuals and to respecting each person’s identity, lived experience, relationships, and unique circumstances.
Catherine uses an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing from systemic, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioural perspectives. She works collaboratively with clients to better understand the factors affecting their mental health and daily life, develop greater self-awareness, strengthen coping strategies, navigate relationships, and work toward meaningful personal goals.
Depending on each person’s interests and needs, Catherine may also incorporate arts-based interventions as a therapeutic tool to support emotional expression, reflection, and communication.
Catherine offers social work and mental health services in both English and French to clients aged 16 and older at Clinique Vivago in Montréal.
