What is a neuropsychology evaluation?
Neuropsychological assessments examine a person's cognitive, behavioral and emotional functions, and the relationships between each of these parts. These evaluations involve standardized tests that assess areas such as intellectual functioning, attention, memory, language, visuo-spatial and praxis perception, and executive functions. Neuropsychological assessments are generally carried out by neuropsychologists with specialized training in psychology and neuroscience.
Our neuropsychologist specializes in adult neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, dysorthographia, giftedness and twice-exceptionality (giftedness accompanied by a neurodevelopmental disorder such as ADD/ADHD). The results of these assessments usually lead to a better understanding of one's own cognitive profile and functioning in everyday life. You can consult this document or more information on neuropsychology evaluation process (only available in French).
Typical Neuropsychology Evaluation Process and Average Costs
Typically, a neuropsychological evaluation lasts ± 15 hours of billable professional services. Evaluations take place over three sessions. These services usually cost ± $2,700 with a report or $2,160 without a report. The duration and total cost of the evaluation may vary according to the number and complexity of the diagnostic hypotheses we need to verify in order to meet your needs. These hypotheses will, of course, be explained to you and validated with you following the first meeting, as well as during the process.
Any addition or reduction in assessment time will be made with your authorization and will be deducted or billed on a pro rata basis, based on $180/hour.
**Please note this is not covered by RAMQ but we do accept private insurance. Consult with your insurance company for more details about your coverage percentage; this service is typically covered under insurance as either psychology or neuropsychology. **
Due to the natutre of the appointments we book all three sessions at once. To book your appointments please email us at info@cliniquevivago.com
